Who We Are
Senda was born from the personal journey of Oliver Blanco, a Spanish entrepreneur who, while backpacking across South America, discovered in Colombia the place that would change his life. His connection with the country was so strong that he decided to stay and begin sharing its beauty with travelers from around the world. Among all the places he explored, the surroundings of Santa Marta and Tayrona National Park — with their unique blend of sea and nature — became the starting point of what is now Senda.
Over time, that first project evolved into Senda Hotels, a collection of boutique hotels located in unique natural settings, designed for travelers seeking a more relaxed and authentic way to explore. We grow slowly, choosing charming destinations such as Tayrona, Minca, or Villa de Leyva, always connected to Colombia’s natural and cultural essence.
Our hotels are small because we believe in close, personal hospitality, in caring for every detail, and in making guests feel at home. But if there is something that truly defines Senda, it is our people. Our team is the true spirit of each hotel; they are the ones who transform every stay into a warm and human experience that cannot be standardized.
Well-being is also part of our essence. All of our hotels offer spaces and experiences for rest and renewal of body and mind, including spa services, massages, and yoga practices. In addition, we have created Senda Loto, a space dedicated to meditation and yoga retreats guided by our resident teacher, Pema, where unique experiences of silence and well-being take place in Colombia.
We believe that travel is not only about visiting a place, but about living those small moments of happiness — a sunrise by the sea, an unhurried conversation, the sound of nature at dusk — that remain forever in our memory and remind us why it is worth traveling… and living.
