Tayrona National Park Costs and Closures: What You Need to Know Before Your Visit

Planning your visit to Tayrona National Park in advance is key to enjoying it fully and without setbacks. The park has different entrance fees depending on the season and the visitor’s profile (national or foreign), and each entry includes mandatory assistance insurance.
In harmony with the Indigenous communities who protect it, the park also closes temporarily several times a year to allow for environmental and spiritual regeneration.

Scheduled Park Closures

Tayrona National Park is much more than a tourist destination: it is a sacred territory, protected by the Indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and by the rich natural environment that inhabits it. For this reason, the park has scheduled annual closures during which visitor access is not permitted under any circumstances.

Estimated closure dates in 2025:

February 1–15 – Beginning-of-year closure

June 1–15 – Mid-year closure

October 19–November 2 – Ceremonial closure of the territory

Prices may vary slightly each year. These rates are based on the most recent official fees.

*Includes mandatory assistance insurance.

High Season Includes: December 15 to January 30, Holy Week, mid-June to mid-July, holiday weekends, and December to January.
